However, as Guru Nayak lights a cigarette, the fleeting glow of the match reveals his face to the astrologer. In a shocking moment, the astrologer realizes that Guru Nayak is a man he thought he had murdered years ago. When he was a young man, the astrologer (whose real name is not given) had a drunken fight with Guru Nayak, stabbed him, and pushed him into a well, leaving him for dead. This incident forced him to flee his village and take on his new identity as an astrologer to escape his past.
